“We have—” She gulped. “Oh, dear. Dad and Uncle Bob used to take turns. We have two

Santa suits. I’ll go call Sally. Maybe she’s made arrangements.”

Sally said she had one person already enlisted, but that they’d need someone else to do it part of the time.

“Who is doing it for you?” Penny asked.

“He’s new to town, but he agreed to help out.”

“Okay, I’ll get someone from this end. Which one will go first?”

“Let yours go first. I’m not sure this guy will be very good with little ones.”

“That’s fine. The tree will be there tomorrow morning so you’ll have a couple of days for

decorating.”

“Perfect. Thanks, Penny.”

“Oh, and Sally, the guys loved the presents you selected. We had a wonderful time.”

“I’m glad.”

“I wish you could’ve been here.”

“Me, too, but we’re really busy right now.”

“Okay. I’ll see you Saturday and Merry Christmas.”

Penny hung up the phone and reached for her ski jacket. “Harriet, I’ll be back to help in just a minute.”

Harriet didn’t seem upset and Penny scooted out the door.

When she reached the bunkhouse, she knocked on the door and waited.

When Jake opened the door, she said, “Hi, Jake, can I ask another favor of you?”
